Ryan stirred and half-opened his eyes. Hope was scrambling frantically, looking in every direction of the dingy cave they had slept in for the night. Grovenwelt was a respectably large town, with a population of about 5,000 Earth House citizens. Earth House architecture consisted of short, single storey houses with tall pointed roofs, and the chimney always on the left side. Five hundred miles away from the Water House town, where an old man was killed for asking for supplies, sat a cave, about ten meters deep, and 1 meter high. The cave was located on the shelf of a mountain, out of sight of any hikers that would have dared to venture this high into the hillside. At the deepest section of this cave lay a man. -The Calling-
A fox jumped out from behind a blackberry bush, startled by something. The clearing was beautiful. A perfect circle of trees surrounded the delicate grass dotted here and there with white and blue flowers. A stream could be heard flowing nearby, breaking the fragile silence. Birds, calling to their mates, circled the trees, some landing to take a rest on the brittle branches.
